Note di Produzione back

The House of Chicken was born thanks to Pietro Sussi’s intuition; it is his original subject, written by himself together with Alessandro Tiberi, who consigned with him the play. It took six months to write The House of Chicken, spent in a sort of spiritual
retreat in a Rome apartment where there was neither day, or night, in a kind of space less and timeless floatation; only Morna, Rebecca and the other characters existed. Only recreation were omnipresent music and canvasses, colours, brushes much loved by the two authors; as a matter of fact besides the screenwriting several “works of art” were born in those feverish months and one day they might be collected in an exhibit, where lack of time will no longer be the leit-motif of the two authors life.
Now let’s take a closer look on those guys of Strawberry Film, the most independents
House of Production of our country.
They are Ilaria Stagni, Pietro Sussi, Alessandro Tiberi and Aldo Di Cagno.
Where are they coming from?
Let us introduce them:

ILARIA STAGNI: Attrice / Produttrice

ZODIACAL SIGN: Scorpio
Born in Milan but an adoptive Roman, in Rome having lived and worked in the last twenty years. Enfante prodige in the world of Italian dubbing she gave voice as a little girl to Shirley Temple and now to Winona Ryder, Mira Sorvino, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet and Bart Simpson.
Ilaria acts on theatre and on the radio, loves books and Jazz and enjoys singing whenever and wherever she can. She is crazy about rice in every fashion and owns a rabbit named Aleph, protagonist, with Oreste Lionello’s voice (Woody Allen’s Italian dubber) of the trailer of The House of Chicken.
She was the executive producer and took care of all the organizational aspects from casting to setting to dubbing and has been Sussi’s shadow for more than a year.
She swears that she’ll never leave dubbing but she wants by all means keep going on what she calls, her mission of producer, which completely fascinates her. “I believe that I’ve given plenty to dubbing and have received important gratification for myself and my career. There are many exciting movies that I keep in my heart and I have been very lucky to have had, as a child, great teachers such as Fede Arnoud and Mario Maldesi and now I enjoy myself five, six times a year dubbing big movies with Great actresses, which I gladly study. I love to work with Francesco Vairano, in my opinion the best and more creative dubbing director in Italy. He taught me to bring on stage harmony and pleasure of cooperating, putting everyone at ease, but requiring the net utmost professional ism. Atmospheres are important above all for movie people”. She has a heartfelt passion for cinema and adores Kubrick; all her life she has been fed and has breathed stage. Her mother is a prose actress and the voice of > Hanna Shigulla, Chatherine Deneuve, Liza Minelli and Kate Baets.
Vittorio Stagni is her father, a well know actor, musician and the Italian voice of Donald Duck, Rick Moranis, Martin Short, “Danny Amatullo”;
her grandfather Ferruccio Stagni was the agent of Vittorio Gasmann and Edoardo De Filippo. It seems that producing and acting is her true vocation and nowadays she definitely belongs to the new generation of European Filmmakers.

PIETRO SUSSI: Regista / Produttore

ZODIACAL SIGN: Scorpio
He was born in Genoa by mistake, spent his infancy between New York and his family country estate in Umbria He has dedicated the last 10 years of his life (he is now 28years old) to the movie art. He has produced and directed more than 12 shorts; among them STOSS (1998) from M. J. Lermontov’s unfinished novel and INTERREGNO (1999) From Flaubert’s novel; he had a contract with Emme distribution of Mr. Marco Gallo.
He started from scratch as a photographer studying in London at the Anglo International School and makes his first steps directing musical video clips. His passions are cinema, photography, books and music (he has been a drum player and keeps playing as a hobby). His favourite musicians are Beatles, Krzysztof Penderecki, Gyorgy Ligeti, Miles Davis, Chet Baker and Nine Inch Nails. Self thought as far as cinematography is concerned, he has “studied” the greatest directors; he calls Kubrick “Dad”, Spielberg “Uncle”, “Grandfather” Hitchcock. Sly and reserved in his private life, on a stage he becomes a workaholic, charistmatic lyon. He is the founder of Strawberry Film.
The House of Chicken is his first full length Movie and he is already working on the next one, still clouded in secrecy. Very sensitive to aesthetics, loves all animals (his cat ASA is practically a daughter to him), including insects, as it can be seen from the Psyco Dream scene of The House of Chicken. His mark on the movie is very peculiar, definitely new and highly personalized. He gives most attention to Editing.
